Two words: overnight oats.
Seriously, friends. Overnight oats.
I may not be breaking any news to you, here (you trend-setter, you), but if you haven’t made them, it’s super simple. And, they’re great for me to refuel my body and optimize my mind.
As a base, you toss some oats in a container, cover them with a liquid of your choice (I love coconut milk!) and let it sit overnight.
When you wake up… voila! The oats have absorbed the liquid and are ready to eat.
But where things get interesting and super fun is when you start layering in ingredients along with the oats and liquid to create different flavor combinations and give it more power (#SuperfoodForTheWin).
You know I love my smoothies, but sometimes, I want to chew my breakfast.
What I don’t want is the hassle of cooking and… wait for it… cleaning.
I’ve got weights to lift, sprints to run, clients to get strong and books to write! Basically, I need to get my butt out the door.
But, now you don’t have to do all the prep work with new Quaker Overnight Oats. You’re gonna love the simple solution that can make your morning hassle-free. Each container not only includes the oats, but also the add-ins — fruits, quinoa, flaxseed and nuts.
You just add a liquid (Your milk or non-dairy option of choice) and throw it in the fridge overnight.
So if you’re not a born recipe developer who can’t think of awesome flavor combos, don’t beat yourself up… I create new recipes all the time and A LOT of them are duds. But you’re really gonna love the new Quaker Overnight Oats.
My fave is their Toasted Coconut & Almond crunch. I mix it with kefir, which is like Greek yogurt, but thinner and Yogurt is a great alternative to milk and makes it extra creamy.
It’s freaking delicious.
If you’re one of my vegan or dairy-sensitive friends, try it with coconut or plain almond milk.
Here’s your move for morning:
– Choose your favorite flavor
– Add milk or your non-dairy option before you go to bed
– sleep (7-9 hours, please!) while your oats cold-steep overnight
– wake up and think of 3 things you have to be grateful for
– get yo butt up and drink a glass of water with fresh-squeezed lemon
– demolish your workout
– eat your Quaker Overnight Oats
– go CRUSH your day
You can thank me later for simplifying your morning madness. 🙂
P.S. – Don’t forget to do something awesome for someone else, today.
