Wake up or refuel post-workout with this creamy, citrusy, delicious smoothie recipe. With just 7 real ingredients, you and your friends can have juice bar quality smoothies, at home.
When it comes to smoothies, I’m something of a snob. I’ve been making them for my friends and I for
what feels like forever so when it comes to creating something new, I spend a lot of time taste-testing.
This time, my friend Keri Glassman and I teamed up with Sunkist Citrus as part of their
Before you roll your eyes at a “sponsored post” listen to why I think this is so cool…
You know I always call out how we live in a world that’s never been more connected, but so many of us
feel so completely disconnected from one another. When Sunkist reached out, their driving intention
was for me and a friend to create recipes that would inspire you to grab some real friends, cook some
real food and share a real connection.
Hit me square in the heart.
So with that in mind, I’m so psyched to share one of the two recipes we created together. Like I said at the top, this one’s a smoothie.
Why a smoothie?
Cause they’re delicious and easy-to-make. Plus, they work just as well for a nutrient-dense breakfast as
they do to refuel your post-workout.
First thing in the morning, this plant-based powerhouse has all the delicious, citrusy zip you want to kickstart your day. It also has the added benefits of being a good source of heart-healthy fiber and
vitamin C, a powerful antioxidant that can help lower inflammation in the body.
Now, if you’re training, you really want to be concerned with three main things post-workout:
1. Increasing protein intake
2. Decreasing inflammation
3. Replenishing glycogen stores
This smoothie checks all those boxes (and more!).
My advice? Round up a few friends for a group workout. You can go take a class together or gather at
your place for an at-home workout. You know I’ve got plenty that you can do, for free.
After the workout, blend up a big batch of these Orange Creamsicle smoothies. Keep in mind that the
recipe serves two. So just double the recipe as needed. You can always stick any leftovers in the fridge or freezer for another time or repurpose into a super smoothie bowl.
If you make this, I’d love to see a pic on social. Take a shot of you and your friends and post with the hashtag #ShareWhatsReal. For more delicious recipes, visit this link HERE!
